Heading (navigation)
Heading is the invisible compass guiding ships and planes through unseen forces

Why is the heading of a vehicle often different from its actual course over ground?
Because the heading is always measured relative to the vehicle’s speed, not direction.
Because external forces like wind or currents push the vehicle off its intended path, requiring heading adjustments.
Because heading and course are always the same and never differ under any conditions.
